John Barata
John Barata graduated from Assumption College in Worcester, MA where he was the Captain of the Men’s Soccer Team from 1997-1999. He was an All-New England All-Star selection in 1999 and was a three time member of the NE-10 All-Conference Team. John received the highest athletic accolade from the college—The Premier Male Senior Student-Athlete Award—as well as defensive, offensive, and most valuable player of the year awards. He comes to Massachusetts from Connecticut, where he served as the Executive Director and Technical Director for Soccer Extreme.
John currently holds his USSF “A” License, and the NSCAA Premier Diploma. John has served as an instructor for Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association and coach for the Olympic Development Program.
John has a wealth of coaching experience at the youth, club and high school levels. He has trained professionally in both the United States and abroad. John trained briefly with the New England Revolution and Portuguese club, Benfica. He is a superb soccer clinician and has many years experience in playing and coaching the game at top levels.
John’s personal coaching philosophy:
